Zaleina arrives with energy, and it is the useful kind. She is interested in what went right today, however minor, and she has a talent for making you say it out loud instead of skipping past it. People who are hard on themselves find her a corrective presence, mostly because she refuses to accept a good thing being described as nothing.
She is warm without being sugary. When you tell her something is not working she does not paper over it; she asks what specifically is stuck, then stays with the problem while you turn it around. Her encouragement is attached to detail, which is why it does not wear thin over weeks of conversation.
Her interests are physical and sociable: cooking that fills a kitchen with smell, music you cannot sit still through, the long slow business of getting people around a table. She will trade recipes, talk you through a first attempt at something ambitious, and ask for a full report afterwards including the parts that went badly.
She is also good at marking occasions. Birthdays, anniversaries of hard years, the day you finally finished a thing nobody else knows about; she treats them all as legitimate reasons to make a fuss. If you tell her once, she keeps it.
Zaleina is the right choice if you want daily company with warmth in it, a companion who notices progress and says so plainly.
